Your First Step to becoming a Security Instructor.
The Tirsia security training curriculum is a modernized system in use-of-force and defensive tactics widely used in the private security industry.
The Security Instructor L1 course focuses not only on the knowledge of techniques, tactics and procedures, but the 4-day mental and physically intensive course also places a heavy emphasis on how to actually teach, and the methods of instruction.
COURSE FOCUS:
- Use-of-Force Law & Arrest Procedures
- Subject Control Tactics
- Integration of Tactical Options
- Legal & ethical considerations for use-of-force
PREREQUISITES:
- Valid Ontario security license or police experience
- Minimum 2 years of full-time security experience or police experience
- Vetted civilians / martial arts instructors with no criminal record may be eligible
- Capabilities to engage in moderate to intense physical drills
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:
- Duty belt
- Handcuffs (Peerless, S&W, ASP), handcuff key
- Baton (ASP, S&W, Nextorch), baton holder
- Sneakers or wrestling shoes (No boots)
- BDU/cargo-style pants, athletic top
- Hydration, meals, snacks
- Course Joining Instructions will be sent after completed registration
The Instructor:
Police Combatives Instructor Chris Mandigma is a former federal law enforcement officer and instructor. He now instructs combatives and firearms internationally as a government contractor.
